Cookie Policy

Last updated: 19 May 2026

This policy explains how Margo Solutions uses cookies and similar technologies on this website. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. Our use of cookies is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), as enforced by the Information Commissioner's Office, and the UK GDPR.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device and remember information. "Similar technologies" includes pixels, local storage and device fingerprinting. Under PECR, any non-strictly-necessary cookie or similar technology requires your prior, informed, freely-given consent — with the right to withdraw at any time.

2. Cookie categories — ICO framework

3. Cookies and similar technologies used on this site

This website is designed to be as light-touch as possible. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising trackers or profiling cookies.

Provider / ServicePurposeCategoryDuration
Margo Solutions (first-party) Maintain page state and basic site functionality Strictly Necessary Session
Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) Delivers the typefaces used on the site (Playfair Display, Plus Jakarta Sans). Loading these fonts may transmit your IP address to Google in the United States, but does not, in itself, set tracking cookies. Functional n/a (no cookie set) — but transfers technical data
Formspree (formspree.io) — only when you submit the enquiry form Processes the enquiry form submission. May set short-lived cookies for spam prevention and CSRF protection. Strictly Necessary (form processing) Short-lived (typically session to 30 days)

4. A note on Google Fonts and your IP address

Transparency note: When this site loads its fonts from Google's servers, your browser sends Google your IP address and basic request data. A 2022 German court ruled that this was unlawful under EU GDPR without consent (Landgericht München, January 2022). The UK position is not identical, but we are aware of the risk. We are evaluating self-hosting the fonts to remove the issue entirely. If you are concerned, you may block third-party requests to fonts.googleapis.com in your browser; the site will fall back to system fonts.

5. How we obtain consent

Because the only cookies set on this site (beyond strictly-necessary first-party cookies) are short-lived form-processing cookies triggered only by your active act of submitting the enquiry form, your submission of the form is treated as your specific, informed consent to those cookies. If we ever introduce analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies, a compliant cookie consent banner will be added giving you a genuine choice (accept all / reject all / manage preferences) before any such cookie is set, with the ability to withdraw consent at any time.

6. How to manage or refuse cookies

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time:

Disabling cookies may affect some site functionality (e.g. the enquiry form).

7. Do Not Track

This website does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, as no industry standard for compliance has been finalised. We do, however, minimise tracking by design.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if our use of cookies changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest version.
